Shen Blue 深蓝

In 2000, Houston presented the city with a large sculpture, “Deep Blue”, which symbolizes the friendship between the two cities (now standing next to Shennan Avenue in Shenzhen). “Deep Blue” was created by the world-famous sculptor John Hanley, valued at 400,000 U.S. dollars, and was purchased by mobilizing donations from famous American personalities and companies. Former U.S. President George W. Bush and his wife participated in the donation and served as honorary chairman of the donation committee.

2000年，休斯敦向我市赠送象征两市友谊的大型雕塑“深蓝”（现矗立在深圳市深南大道旁）。“深蓝”由世界著名雕塑家约翰·汉利创作，价值40万美元，发动美国著名人士和公司捐款购买而得。美国前总统布什及夫人参与捐款，并担任捐款委员会名誉主席。
